The Conejo Valley is located only 39 miles from downtown Los Angeles and LAX. The Conejo Valley contains the communities of Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Oak Park, and Newbury Park. The largest community, Thousand Oaks, consistently ranks in the top five in the FBI’s “safest cities” list of cities with population of 100,000 or more.
With 13,000 acres of open space and 33 developed parks surrounding Thousand Oaks, outdoor recreation is a way of life for Conejo residents. There are 75 miles of established trails for hiking, biking and equestrian pleasure. The area is home to Amgen and numerous other biotechnology and high tech firms. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is located at the border with Simi Valley and Moorpark, communities also served by the Westlake Village office. Sherwood Country Club is home to the annual Tiger Woods Golf Classic, the Target World Challenge.
The academically acclaimed Conejo Valley Unified School District, Oak Park School District, and Las Virgenes School District are three of the top rated school districts in the state, and many individual schools have received California Top 100 and California Distinguished School awards from the state. The area is also home to California Lutheran University.
Abundant entertainment and dining choices await the Conejo Valley resident. The Civic Arts Plaza offers cultural, educational, and entertainment programs, and features an 1,800-seat Performing Arts Center, a 400-seat Forum Theatre, a five-acre park, and City Hall. |
